Top 10 Washington D.C. HS baseball players in Class of 2023
5. Owen Basso, P, St. Albans
Another right-handed pitcher from D.C., Basso impressed for a St. Albans Bulldogs team despite a poor record as a starter. The 6-foot, 180-pound Basso is ranked as the No. 51 player in Maryland by Perfect Game and the No. 30 prospect in Virginia-DC by PBR.
Last year, Basso was the star pitcher for the Bulldogs as he recorded an ERA of 3.95 with 54 strikeouts, 28 earned runs and 16 walks in 49.2 innings over 10 appearances. This helped St. Albans make the semifinal round of the DCSAA state championship tournament.聽
Basso will play D-I baseball collegiately, joining the squad at the University of Dayton. With one year left with the Bulldogs, Basso will look to help the team advance all the way to the championship this spring.
Solid start to the season: 2 CG wins, 7 earned runs in 27 IP, FB up to 89 and SL, CB, CH all working well. @PBRVirginiaDC
