D-I schools with men鈥檚 basketball and football national titles
Ohio State (one basketball, eight football)
Speaking of Ohio State, the Buckeyes defeated Cal 75-55 to win their only national championship in basketball in 1960. While the Buckeyes do have a national title in basketball, they are better known for their prowess on the football field. The team has won eight titles, most recently in 2014 when they won the inaugural College Football Playoff.
Ohio State has been close to winning a title in both sports in the 21st century with the Buckeyes losing in the 2007 NCAA tournament national championship to Florida 84-75 while losing the College Football Playoff national championship to Alabama in 2020.
