Now to teams with multiple titles in at least one sport. Cal was named the national champion in football for three consecutive years from 1920-22. The Golden Bears were the outright champions in 1920 before splitting the 1921 title with Cornell and the 1922 title with Cornell and Princeton.
For basketball, the Golden Bears won the tournament in 1959 with a 71-70 victory over West Virginia to finish the year with a 25-4 record. Cal got close again the next season, losing in the national title game 75-55 to Ohio State.
