D-I schools with men鈥檚 basketball and football national titles
Maryland (one basketball, one football)
Now to a team with more clear-cut national titles. The Terrapins were the 1953 consensus national football champions after going 10-1 during the campaign. Though they lost to Oklahoma in the 1954 Orange Bowl, they still finished with the top ranking in both polls, giving them the national title.
In basketball, the Terps won the 2002 NCAA tournament with a 64-52 victory over Indiana. Unfortunately for Maryland, they have never gotten close to a national championship in football since and the furthest they鈥檝e gone in the NCAA tournament since their victory was the Sweet 16 in both 2003 and 2016.
