D-I schools with men鈥檚 basketball and football national titles
Arkansas (one basketball, one football)
Another college with strange circumstances surrounding their football national championship, the Razorbacks were the only undefeated and untied team in college football in 1964 and were selected as national champions by Pro Football Writers of America and the Helms Athletic Foundation. However, prior to bowl games, Alabama was selected as the national champion in the Associated Press and United Press International Coaches polls even though they鈥檇 lose their bowl game to Texas in the Orange Bowl, a team Arkansas had previously beaten.
The Razorbacks basketball national title is much more cut and dry. Arkansas won the 1994 NCAA Tournament 76-72 over Duke. They were close to repeating as champions in 1995, though they fell to UCLA 89-78 in the national championship game. The Razorbacks have another claim for the football national championship in 1977 though the NCAA recognizes Notre Dame as that year鈥檚 champion.
