3. Oral Roberts
There are a couple schools on this list who have been recent darlings of March, and Oral Roberts is certainly one of them. The small school from Tulsa, Oklahoma has made the NCAA Tournament six times, but made a memorable run just two seasons ago all the way to the Sweet 16, knocking off the likes of Ohio State and Florida while falling just short to Arkansas for a trip to the Elite Eight. Many will remember a talented young guard named Max Abmas 鈥� who was recently named this season鈥檚 Summit League Player of the Year 鈥� from that team, and he is leading the Golden Eagles again as a senior in 2022-23, averaging 22.3 points which is the sixth-best scoring mark in the country.聽
Although Kevin Obanor is now at Texas Tech, Oral Roberts has found some additional scoring from junior guard Isaiah McBride and 7-foot-5 center Connor Vanover. The 27-4 Golden Eagles can match up with a lot of teams across the country, and have dominated Summit League competition, going a perfect 18-0. Oral Roberts鈥� four losses this year have come to definite tournament teams in Saint Mary鈥檚 and Houston, and a couple of potential tourney squads in Utah State and New Mexico. The Golden Eagles haven鈥檛 lost since Jan. 9, and their past experience on the big stage makes them dangerous.
