10 teams who could make a Cinderella run in March Madness
5. Colgate
Colgate has quietly become an NCAA Tournament staple out of the Patriot League, making the “big dance” each of the last three times it’s been played. However, the Raiders are still searching for their first tournament win in the Matt Langel era, one they came oh so close to last season in a first-round matchup against Wisconsin. While they struggled to put up points overall in that one, the Raiders proved they were lethal from deep, and have followed that same path this season as they shoot over 40% from 3-point range.
The leader of the squad is again senior guard Tucker Richardson who hit five threes against the Badgers in the tourney last year. Senior forward Keegan Records has also returned to have a strong season, as have fellow seniors Oliver Lynch-Daniels and Ryan Moffatt. Adding an uber-talented freshman into the mix in guard Braeden Smith, this Colgate team looks more than capable of surprising people this March. At 24-8 on the year and with a nice win at Syracuse on the resume, the Raiders’ experience could lead them to another Patriot League crown and long-awaited NCAA Tournament victory.
After last night's performance, you're looking at the BEST three-point shooting team in the nation.
