10 teams who could make a Cinderella run in March Madness
6. Bradley
Of all the teams on this list, Bradley might very well be playing some of the best basketball right now. The Braves have made it to the NCAA Tournament just twice since 1996, but one of those appearances came in head coach Brian Wardle’s fourth year in 2018-19 as Bradley earned a No. 15 seed and played Michigan State tough during an opening-round loss.
This year’s Bradley squad is led by talented 6-foot-9 forward Rienk Mast who averages 14 points and eight rebounds. Guards Malevy Leons and Duke Deen have also provided plenty of scoring for the 23-8 Braves. Bradley is a solid shooting team that can score with its competition while also playing stout defense, and it’s part of what has led to 10 wins in a row. The Braves will need to earn the Missouri Valley Conference’s automatic bid to get into the “big dance,” but if they do, they could be a force to be reckoned with.
