Top 10 Missouri high school baseball players in Class of 2023
5. Addison Smith, SS, Liberty
After playing alongside eventual third-round MLB draft pick Milbrandt last season, Smith will be the main star for the Liberty Blue Jays in 2023. After winning a state championship as a sophomore, Smith hit for a .372 average as a junior, adding four home runs, 31 RBIs, 45 hits and 18 stolen bases. The 6-foot-1 switch hitter was both first-team all-conference and all-state in 2022 as well, and has also shown his defensive ability time and again by setting a school record with 86 assists at the shortstop position. After a summer season that saw him play well once again for the Royals Scout Team and compete in the Area Code Games, Smith will look to lead Liberty back to state as a senior before heading off to play at Oklahoma State.
. ‘23 SS Addison Smith (; ) is quickly becoming one of my favorite players in the Midwest.
Loose easy LH stroke with all fields feel & more thump to come.
Silky smooth on the infield, too.
