Top 10 Utah high school baseball players in Class of 2023
5. Cole Kershaw, 1B, Jordan
With a surname like Kershaw, there may be a slight expectation that the athlete would be good at baseball. Fortunately for Jordan Beetdiggers first baseman Cole Kershaw he lives up to his surname. The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Kershaw ranks as the No. 7 player in Utah by PBR and the No. 6 player by Perfect Game.
Kershaw raked for the Beetdiggers a season ago. During the campaign, Kershaw had a batting average of .443 with 43 runs scored, 38 RBIs and seven home runs. This earned the junior Class 5A second-team all-state honors.
As one of the top position players in the state, Kershaw had many options to play collegiately. Ultimately, he decided to stay in-state, committing to the Utah Utes. This season, Kershaw will look to translate his individual power into greater team success with a state title.
I am proud to announce that I will further my baseball and academic career at the University of Utah. Thank you to my parents, family, coaches, teammates and friends for supporting me.
Go Utes!
