Top 10 Utah high school baseball players in Class of 2023
6. Tyler Ball, P, Skyridge
Though he was an elite two-way player for the Skyridge Falcons last season, Ball has a future on the mound. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound right-handed pitcher is ranked as the No. 11 prospect in Utah by PBR and the No. 4 prospect by Perfect Game.
Last year, Ball hit .261 with 19 runs scored, 18 RBIs and four home runs. On the bump, Ball went 3-5 but had an ERA of just 2.68 with 58 strikeouts and 25 walks in 44.1 innings pitched in nine appearances. This performance on the mound earned Ball Class 6A second-team all-state honors.
Though he was initially committed to Stanford University, come signing day, Ball flipped his commitment and signed with in-state BYU. With his high strikeout totals, expect Ball to once again be grabbing headlines for his elite pitching ability.
Welcome to the family, Tyler! 馃
