4. Mason Eckelman, C, Walsh Jesuit
Eckelman comes from a baseball family, as his father, Alex, has served as a scouting coordinator and hitting coach for the Cleveland Guardians over the past several years. Meanwhile, Mason continues to show his talent on the diamond as he hit .392 with three home runs, 23 RBIs and 23 runs in his junior season at Walsh Jesuit. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound catcher also earned first-team All-Ohio honors last season coming off a sophomore campaign in which he put up similar numbers. Eckelman has gotten to play alongside a couple of Ohio鈥檚 best in the Class of 2023 in Piech and Erdmann over the past few years, and after his time at Walsh Jesuit, he will likely reunite with a former teammate, Henry Kaczmar, at his dad鈥檚 alma mater, Ohio State, after both players decommitted from Michigan over the past year.
