Top 10 Ohio high school baseball players in Class of 2023
8. Ryan Piech, RHP, Walsh Jesuit
Throwing to standout catcher Mason Eckelman, both Piech and his Walsh Jesuit teammate, Cincinnati commit Drew Erdmann, are worthy of being on this list. Over the past couple of years, Piech has led the way for Walsh Jesuit鈥檚 staff, helping the team to the state semifinals in 2021, and the district finals last season. As a sophomore, the 6-foot-3, 210-pound pitcher went an impressive 10-2 with a 0.78 ERA and 78 strikeouts. He was impressive again in 2022, setting a single-game program record with 19 strikeouts in a postseason contest. Also shining with Release Baseball and the Cincinnati Reds Scout Team during the offseason, the reigning Crown Conference Pitcher of the Year will look to build on his success and help Walsh Jesuit earn a coveted state title this time around before staying in state to play at Xavier.
