Top 10 Maryland HS baseball players in Class of 2023
3. Parker Thomas, P, Archbishop Spalding
After going 6-2 as a sophomore, Thomas was seen as a potential star on the rise for the Archbishop Spalding program on the bump. During his junior campaign, he more than lived up to the hype. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound right-handed pitcher went 8-0 with a 0.36 ERA and 60 strikeouts for the Cavaliers. While his penchant is typically on the mound, Thomas showed off his all-around skills as he doubled as a third baseman and hit .362 with 18 runs scored, 15 RBIs and two home runs.
As one of the top teams in Maryland coming off of the MIAA Class A state title, Archbishop Spalding will once again look to win behind its standout pitcher. Thomas was selected as a preseason all-state team member by the MSABC and signed his NLI to join East Carolina University on National Signing Day. With high expectations, Thomas and his batterymate McNally will look to lead the Cavaliers to another state title before leaving the program.
