Staubach is the first Heisman Trophy winner to ever be named the MVP of a Super Bowl. During his junior year at the Naval Academy, Staubach threw for 1,702 yards and seven passing touchdowns to go with 371 rushing yards and nine more scores to help him secure the Heisman.
After an injury-riddled senior year and four years with the Navy, Staubach became the quarterback for the Cowboys. As the team鈥檚 signal-caller, Staubach led Dallas to Super Bowl titles in 1971 and 1977, winning the game鈥檚 MVP honors in Super Bowl VI with 119 passing yards and two touchdown passes.
