SEC鈥檚 top 10 basketball players with month left in season
6. Ricky Council IV, G, Arkansas
After a couple seasons as a reserve at Wichita State, Council IV has found his home as a starter at Arkansas, and his emergence is part of what has led the Razorbacks to a 17-7 start. Council IV is a top-100 scorer in the country averaging 17.1 points while also posting 3.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists per contest. Throughout the year, the 6-foot-6 guard has shown a nice shooting stroke, but also a strong ability to get to the basket which has resulted in some tremendous highlight-reel dunks.
Council IV has had just two games all season in which he hasn鈥檛 scored in double figures, and has eight 20-point games to his name, the best coming in a 27-point effort early in the year during non-conference play. Despite injuries to Nick Smith Jr. and Trevon Brazile, Council IV, along with guys like freshman Black and veteran guard Davonte Davis, have helped keep the Razorbacks afloat, and they will still be a threat come tournament time.
