Another lifelong Tiger, Whitaker collected several accolades, including five All-Star appearances, four Silver Slugger awards, three Gold Gloves and a rookie of the year award. The World Series champion posted a career .276 batting average with 244 homers while playing elite defense. Whitaker ranks third in organization history with 2,390 games played, fourth with 1,386 runs and sixth with 2,369 hits.
