Ranking the 10 greatest Cleveland Guardians of all time
9. Kenny Lofton, OF (1992-96, 1998-2001, 2007)
Lofton played for nearly a dozen franchises during his MLB career, but he will be most remembered for what he accomplished in Cleveland. Lofton was dealt to the franchise from the Houston Astros ahead of the 1992 season and emerged as an All-Star by 1994, reaching the Midsummer Classic in six straight seasons. Lofton spent the 1997 campaign with the Atlanta Braves, but returned to Cleveland through the 2001 season, and again at the end of his career in 2007. From 1992-96, Lofton led the majors in stolen bases, putting up a career-best 75 in 1996. He was also named a Gold Glove Award winner four times in a Cleveland uniform before being inducted into the franchise鈥檚 Hall of Fame in 2010. Lofton ranks in the top 10 in franchise history in hits, while his 452 steals are the best in Cleveland history by a wide margin.
