Ranking the 10 greatest Los Angeles Angels of all time
6. Garret Anderson, OF (1994-2008)
Anderson was a fan favorite in Los Angeles who played nearly his entire 17-year MLB career with the Angels. Anderson’s career started slower than some of the Angels’ all-time greats, but he hit his stride in the early 2000s, hitting 28 home runs or more in four straight seasons from 2000-03. He also produced at least 116 RBIs in each of those campaigns. Anderson’s most memorable season came in 2002 where he hit .306 with 29 home runs and 123 RBIs, finishing fourth in MVP voting while earning his second of three career All-Star nods. The two-time Silver Slugger also hit .300 with two home runs and 13 RBIs that postseason, playing an integral role in the franchise’s lone World Series title, particularly with a three-run double in Game 7. His 2,368 hits and 1,292 RBIs both lead the franchise, while his 272 home runs rank third.
