Jakucionis had the opportunity to play professionally in his home country of Lithuania before coming to Illinois, and it鈥檚 been evident how polished his game already is during his freshman season. The third-team All-Big Ten guard is a leader of a talented Illini squad, averaging 15 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.6 assists while shooting 44.8% from the field and 32.9% from 3-point range. Jakucionis has put up some impressive stat lines throughout the season, including five double-doubles and back-to-back 24-point efforts in February. He鈥檒l play a key role in Illinois鈥� attempt to return to the second weekend of the tournament before potentially becoming a lottery pick. Greater consistency, particularly with his deep shot, will help Jakucionis reach his full potential, but the 6-foot-6, 200-pound guard has the look of an NBA-ready player.
