Top 10 Washington high school baseball players in Class of 2025
8. Shane Johnson, LHP, Lake Washington
Johnson has a terrific arm and should be one of the most exciting players to watch across the Evergreen State this spring. He is also on one of the best teams in the state as Lake Washington should be a favorite in Class 3A. Johnson helped lead Lake Washington to the state championship game in 2023 before falling just short despite a 20-win season last year. The 5-foot-9, 180-pound southpaw was dominant again as a junior, pitching multiple complete games with big strikeout numbers. Johnson has a powerful fastball that reaches the upper 80s and a low release that is tough on hitters. He holds a lot of potential heading into his senior year and could emerge as a star at the collegiate level at Oregon where he’ll play alongside Carvalho and Markham.
Shane Johnson () pitches with great confidence and energy. Fun to watch. And his very high-spin breaking ball isn’t fun for hitters out of his lower release. FB up and to glove side, spin down. Effective.
