7. Isaiah Shayter, RHP, Elizabethtown Area
Shayter chose to continue his career at Penn State instead of East Carolina, Kent State, and Pitt. The Elizabethtown Area standout had a 1.16 ERA and sat 37 batters down on strikes in 24 innings as a junior. Batters hit just .143 against him.
Shayter’s fastball climbs up to a whopping 96 mph, a pitch that the Nittany Lions will surely like to see. Perfect Game scouting said Shayter generates whiffs early and often. In August 2023, Shayter’s max fastball velocity was the highest of any Team Pennsylvania pitcher at the Prep Baseball Report Future Games.
