2. David Perez, SS, Archbishop Ryan
Perez, a team captain at Philadelphia’s Archbishop Ryan High School, is the top-ranked shortstop in the state, according to Perfect Game. Perfect Game also tabs him as the No. 2 overall Pennsylvania prospect.
Perez is a West Virginia pledge who runs a 6.72 60-yard dash and has a high exit velocity of 91mph at the plate.
“Lean, athletic build with plenty to fill out in frame at present,” Perez’s Perfect Game scouting report reads. “Primary infielder with quick arm and easy actions across.”
