Top 10 Big 12 basketball players midway through 2024-25 season
7. Keshon Gilbert, G, Iowa State
Gilbert helped Iowa State ascend into a 29-win team that reached the Sweet 16 last season after transferring from UNLV. The 6-foot-4 senior guard has been even better in 2024-25 while putting himself into the Big 12 Player of the Year conversation. After averaging 13.7 points in Ames last season, Gilbert has increased his scoring to 15 points per game while shooting a career-best 49.6% from the field. Alongside leading scorer Curtis Jones, Gilbert has helped Iowa State鈥檚 offense rank second in the Big 12 in scoring at 81.6 points per contest. The athletic playmaker who is averaging 3.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists also continues to shine on defense with 1.5 steals per game. Iowa State has struggled recently, but the Cyclones have the talent to make a deep run in March and Gilbert will likely be at the forefront.
