Top 10 college football QBs returning for 2025 season
3. Sam Leavitt, Arizona State
Leavitt was a four-star prospect in high school, but it was hard to imagine that he would be a top-10 quarterback in the country just months ago, particularly during a preseason camp competition with Jeff Sims. Leavitt鈥檚 emergence became a big surprise this past season, as did his team with Arizona State winning its final six games to claim a Big 12 title and reach the College Football Playoff. The Sun Devils nearly upset Texas in a two-overtime playoff loss, and they could go further in 2025 with Leavitt鈥檚 return. Overall, the 6-foot-2, 200-pound standout had 2,885 yards and 24 touchdowns a year after attempting just 23 passes at Michigan State. Leavitt was also dynamic with his legs, rushing for 443 yards and five scores. He maintains a lot of untapped potential and should continue ASU鈥檚 resurgence under Kenny Dillingham.
