Top 10 college football QBs returning for 2025 season
8. Nico Iamaleava, Tennessee
Iamaleava didn鈥檛 light the world on fire in his first year as a collegiate starter, but the 6-foot-6, 215-pound standout still possesses the upside that made him a top-five prospect in the Class of 2023. Iamaleava wasn鈥檛 asked to do all that much in 2024 as Tennessee had the sixth-best defense in the country and a strong rushing attack led by Dylan Sampson. With Sampson gone, Josh Heupel might turn Iamaleava loose more often, even with a new cast of wide receivers in Knoxville. Despite the run-heavy offense, Iamaleava threw for 2,616 yards and 19 touchdowns in 2024 while completing 63.8% of his passes. He also showcased rushing ability with 358 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. Iamaleava could have a breakout season while leading the Vols back to the playoff in 2025, particularly if his completion percentage improves.
