Makhi Hughes transferring: 5 possible landing spots for RB
Florida State Seminoles
Mike Norvell and the Seminoles pursued Hughes out of high school and it wouldn’t be surprising to see them do so again as he enters the portal. Following a strong campaign in 2023, Florida State is coming off one of its worst seasons in decades in 2024, going just 2-10 while finishing dead last in the ACC. The Noles’ offense struggled as a whole, but it had a particularly tough time running the ball, finishing 129th out of 133 FBS teams in rushing yards per game. Leading rusher Lawrence Toafili is also out of eligibility, so Florida State could use reinforcements in its backfield. Norvell has already made some key offensive additions via the portal with Thomas Castellanos and Duce Robinson. Making one more splash with Hughes would give FSU a potential star halfback who would help create a more formidable offense in 2025.
