Top 10 nominees on 2025 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame ballot
Marques Johnson
Ranging from Maurice Lucas to Bill Laimbeer, several legendary NBA players are still awaiting a Hall of Fame nod. Johnson is among that group, and perhaps 2025 will be his year if the voters limit the amount of first-time nominees selected. Johnson has Hall of Fame resumes at both the collegiate and professional levels. While playing under John Wooden at UCLA, Johnson became a national champion, national player of the year and eventual No. 3 overall NBA draft pick as his No. 54 hangs in the rafters at Pauley Pavilion. Johnson also had his No. 8 retired by the Milwaukee Bucks five years ago as a five-time All-Star and an All-NBA first-team forward. The 68-year-old finished his career with the Los Angeles Clippers and Golden State Warriors, and currently is a color analyst for Bucks television broadcasts.
