Top 10 nominees on 2025 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame ballot
Billy Donovan
Donovan is one of several active head coaches who were nominated for the first time on the 2025 ballot and he could reach Springfield sooner rather than later. Donovan hasn鈥檛 had elite success at the NBA level with the Oklahoma City Thunder or Chicago Bulls, though he does maintain a solid .556 winning percentage across 718 games coached entering the 2024-25 season. However, Donovan鈥檚 resume as a collegiate coach stacks up with nearly any Hall of Fame nominee. The 59-year-old served as head coach at Florida for nearly two decades from 1996-2015, leading the Gators to six SEC championships and four Final Four appearances. The three-time SEC Coach of the Year won back-to-back national titles in 2006 and 2007, something that wasn鈥檛 achieved again until UConn did so last season.
