10 most impactful players for 2024 NCAA volleyball tournament
Melanie Parra, TCU
TCU has seen a dramatic turnaround from its 17-15 2023 campaign as the Horned Frogs have gone 21-7 this season while earning a No. 5 seed in the NCAA tournament. TCU has played particularly well in the second half of the campaign, going 10-3 since mid-October thanks in large part to Parra, the 2024 Big 12 Player of the Year. The 5-foot-11 senior outside hitter was a third-team All-American last season and has progressively improved during her time in Fort Worth. This season, she is among the nation鈥檚 best in several statistical categories, highlighted by her 620.5 total points and 5.91 points per set which both rank third in the country. Parra鈥檚 531 kills and 5.06 kills per set are also top-10 marks nationally. Parra is a solid defender as well with 257 digs, but her offensive ability could help TCU surprise in the coming weeks.
"She's a program changer." talks to 's Melanie Parra and Head Coach Jason Williams about her volleyball aspirations and playing for TCU.
