3. Texas Longhorns
Texas looked like a lock for a College Football Playoff berth just a couple of weeks ago, but a home loss to Georgia and a narrow three-point win at Vanderbilt have dropped the Longhorns to No. 6 in the country. Texas is still plenty capable of reaching the playoff, but has tough road games upcoming at Arkansas and Texas A&M. Winning one of those two contests would likely secure a spot provided the Longhorns don鈥檛 slip up at home against Florida or Kentucky.聽
Despite some concerns with the way they have played in their last two games, the Longhorns remain one of the most dominant teams in the country on both sides of the ball. Their top-20 offense could use greater consistency from Quinn Ewers following his return, but Texas鈥� No. 1-ranked defense has been the real story and will play a big role in the Longhorns鈥� potential playoff run.
