8. Shawn Moore, QB (1987-90)
A dual-threat passer, Moore placed fourth in Heisman Trophy voting in 1990, tying the highest finish by any ACC player at that juncture.
As a senior that season, he threw for 2,262 yards and a league-high 21 touchdowns. Virginia climbed to the top of the national polls in the process.
With Moore operating their offense, the Cavaliers reached consecutive New Year’s Day bowl games. He ranks third in program history in career air strikes (55) and passing yards (6,629).
