10. Otto Schnellbacher, S (1943, 1946-48)
Schnellbacher starred in for Kansas. The “Double Threat from Sublette” made his mark on offense and defense as well. The 6-foot-4 Kansan was a capable pass catcher and daring defensive back. Schnellbacher would play pro football and baseball after his stints聽at KU.
Jan. 1, 1948 -KU Football becomes the 1st college team from the state of Kansas to play in a bowl game, meeting Georgia Tech in the Orange Bowl. The team featured two All-Americans, Ray Evans and Otto Schnellbacher (no. 11). Coached by George Sauer. More:
