Top 10 Illinois defensive players for 2024 HS football season
7. Joseph Reiff, Sr., York
Reiff is one of many talented defensive lineman across Illinois this season and has made a big impact for York in recent years. Reiff has good football bloodlines as his father, Joe, was a defensive lineman at Northwestern in the 1990s. Joseph will follow his father鈥檚 footsteps in the near future as a Notre Dame commit, joining some other Illinois defensive standouts like Christopher Burgess Jr. and Dominik Hulak as part of a terrific 2025 recruiting class for the Fighting Irish. Before heading to South Bend, Joseph will look to finish his prep career on a high note as a leader of the York defense. Last season, the big 6-foot-5, 245-pound defensive lineman racked up 70 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and 11 sacks, numbers the all-state standout is certainly capable of replicating this fall.
