Top 10 Illinois HS football players in Class of 2025
4. Christopher Burgess Jr., Edge, Simeon
Burgess Jr. is a special talent who has excelled on Simeon’s defensive line over the past couple of seasons. While the 6-foot-4, 240-pound senior can play on the interior, he is often at his best as a true edge rusher, evidenced by the 13 sacks he had last season. Burgess Jr. also posted 36 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, and forced two fumbles as the Wolverines went 6-6 on the year. Length and quickness off the line of scrimmage are two of Burgess Jr.’s best attributes which should allow him to put up similar numbers in his senior year. His talented skill set also gives him a bright future playing for Al Golden and Marcus Freeman at Notre Dame. With over 30 Division I offers, Burgess Jr. committed to the Fighting Irish in January and is one of the best players in their top-10 recruiting class.
Last time we saw Notre Dame commit Chris Burgess Jr. on the camp series he gave us this nasty highlight 💪
Coming back to put in more work this weekend 👀
