8. Tiqwai Hayes, RB, Aliquippa
Hayes was the Class 4A co-Player of the Year last season at Aliquippa and enters 2024 as a favorite for the honor once again. The 5-foot-10, 185-pound running back has been a catalyst for the Quips鈥� offense the past couple of seasons as he ran for 1,720 yards and 23 touchdowns as just a sophomore in 2022. Last year, he emerged as one of Pennsylvania鈥檚 leading rushers as he posted his first 2000-yard campaign with 2,011 yards total and 33 touchdowns. As good as Hayes has been in the backfield, he has also contributed defensively for Aliquippa with 11 tackles and three interceptions last season, two of which were pick-sixes. Hayes will be one of the most exciting offensive players to watch in the state this season before teaming up with one of Pennsylvania鈥檚 other top senior rushers, Jabree Wallace-Coleman, at Penn State.
