Ranking each Big 12 football head coach entering 2024 season
9. Kalani Sitake, BYU
Sitake is one of the longest-tenured head coaches on this list as he has been patrolling the sideline at BYU since 2016. The 48-year-old has gone 61-41 overall at his alma mater while winning four out of six bowl games. The overall record has been good, but the recent results for the Cougars under Sitake have been underwhelming as BYU went just 5-7 overall in 2023, including 2-7 in its first year of Big 12 play. Still, Sitake has established a physical, hard-nosed brand of football at BYU that should eventually help it transition to playing at the Power 4 level. It may ultimately take some time, but it鈥檚 hard to bet against Sitake and the Cougars bouncing back in 2024 with some of the ups and downs he has navigated BYU through previously.
