10 most impactful players for the 2024 College World Series
Henry Ford, IF, Virginia
Virginia has a host of talented hitters up and down its lineup, but one of the biggest keys to the Cavaliers making a run toward a title over the next week or two could be their talented freshman infielder, Ford. The 6-foot-5, 220-pound standout has made a seamless transition to college baseball in 2024, hitting .339 with 17 home runs, a team-leading 68 RBIs and 83 hits. Ford has also put up a .413 on-base percentage and a .608 slugging percentage and has been terrific defensively in addition to his tremendous ability at the dish. The Cavaliers will need contributions from power hitter Harrison Didawick among others as well, but Ford, who has had multiple hits in three of the Cavaliers’ five tournament games thus far, could ultimately be the team’s offensive catalyst.
