Top 10 nominees on 2025 College Football Hall of Fame ballot
Montee Ball
Ball might not be the flashiest or most memorable name on this list, but what he accomplished in four seasons at Wisconsin still stacks up among the best running backs to ever play college football. Despite just 391 yards rushing as a freshman, Ball finished his career with 5,140 rushing yards which still rank in the top 20 all time, highlighted by back-to-back seasons with at least 1,800 yards to conclude his Badgers career. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of Ball’s game was his nose for the end zone as his 77 career rushing touchdowns ranked second all-time across college football, while his 33 scores on the ground in 2011 are the second-most in a single season to just Barry Sanders’ 37 in 1988. The two-time consensus All-American and Doak Walker Award winner certainly has the resume to be enshrined in Atlanta.
