10 most impactful players for 2024 Women’s College World Series
Kayla Beaver, P, Alabama
No. 14 Alabama produced perhaps the biggest surprise of the super-regional round as it upset SEC rival Tennessee to make it to Oklahoma City. The 38-win Crimson Tide have talent up and down their roster, but if they are going to continue this special run over the next week or so, Beaver will likely lead the charge. The 6-foot-1 grad student has formed a dynamic duo alongside Jocelyn Briski in Alabama’s rotation, going 18-9 with a 1.58 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and .196 opponent batting average. The 6-foot-1 grad student has also struck out 178 batters across 186 ⅓ innings of work. Beaver impressively outdueled Tennessee standout Karlyn Pickens in a 14-inning marathon during super regionals and she and Briski will look to continue their success in the Women’s College World Series.
