Top 10 breakout candidates for the 2024 WNBA season
Jacy Sheldon, G, Dallas Wings
Sheldon is a skilled all-around guard and proved so time and again throughout a brilliant five-year career at Ohio State. While Sheldon’s top statistical season with the Buckeyes came in 2021-22, arguably her best overall season was in 2023-24 as Ohio State became one of the top teams in the country while the 5-foot-10 guard averaged 17.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.9 steals. Her ability to facilitate and shoot the ball from deep in addition to her strong defense make her one of the most exciting two-way guards entering the league. With the Wings’ lone All-Star from last season, Satou Sabally, out to start the season, there should be plenty of opportunity for the fifth overall pick in the 2024 draft to grow her game.
