Top 10 breakout candidates for the 2024 WNBA season
Stephanie Soares, F, Dallas Wings
Soares is one of multiple young players on this list for the Wings who could have a chance to emerge this season. At 6-foot-6, Soares has a lot of upside and that鈥檚 part of what led to her being selected No. 4 overall last year. The native of Sau Paolo, Brazil proved that during the 2022-23 campaign at Iowa State as she averaged 14.4 points, 9.9 rebounds and three blocks. However, Soares suffered a torn ACL in January 2023 which cut that season short and caused her to miss her rookie year with the Wings. That could ultimately result in a slow start this season, but Soares might be a key piece for Dallas by the end of the year and has the upside to become one of the better post players in the league.
