A.J. Hoggard enters transfer portal: 5 possible landing spots
West Virginia Mountaineers
West Virginia will officially begin a new era next season as former Drake head coach Darian DeVries takes over the program. DeVries has some work to do this offseason and one of the biggest needs for the Mountaineers remains a true point guard. Over the past couple of weeks, West Virginia has seen several of its key guards enter the transfer portal including Kerr Kriisa, Noah Farrakhan and Kobe Johnson, while the team’s leading scorers, guard RaeQuan Battle and big man Jesse Edwards, are out of eligibility. DeVries has already made a couple of moves in the portal headlined by the additions of his son, Tucker DeVries, and guard Sencire Harris. However, adding a veteran like Hoggard – who played the final two years of his high school career in the Mountain State – would be a major win as the program rebuilds.
