Ranking the 10 greatest Edmonton Elks in franchise history
7. Brian Kelly, WR (1979-87)
While now he runs, bikes, and swims, Kelly was once Canada’s premier receiver.
Only three CFL players have scored more than his 97 career touchdowns. A crafty wideout, “Howdy Doody” owns Edmonton’s records for career receptions (575) and receiving yards (11,169).
Kelly, who wore No. 70, was chosen as an All-Canadian pass-catcher six times. He also won five Grey Cups.
These days, Kelly competes in Ironman triathlons and is one of the top athletes in his age group. The EE is on one side of his bike helmet.
