Johnell Davis enters transfer portal: 5 landing spots for star
Indiana
Davis is a native of Gary, Indiana so the idea to return home and play for the prestigious Hoosiers is likely an appealing one to him. Indiana already lost leading scorer Kel鈥檈l Ware to the NBA draft and will need help in both scoring and the backcourt. While Trey Galloway may return, the depth behind him is weak with Gabe Cupps not performing well as a freshman and CJ Gunn transferring to DePaul. Adding Davis would immediately legitimize the Hoosiers roster as they look to bounce back after missing out on the NCAA Tournament.
Davis would not struggle with playing time at Indiana and the allure of being a home-state hero is likely one that he鈥檇 embrace. However, with the Hoosiers coming off of their worst season of the Mike Woodson era, Davis may opt to join a more win-now program in his last year of eligibility.
