Dain Dainja transferring: 5 landing spots for Big Ten center
Minnesota
This would be a homecoming for Dainja as he would return to his home state and join a program just minutes away from his hometown. The Golden Gophers need help in the frontcourt as backup big man Parker Fox is out of eligibility, starting power forward Pharrel Payne has entered the transfer portal and starting center Dawson Garcia has yet to decide on his future. No matter what Garcia鈥檚 decision is, it鈥檚 clear that Minnesota needs help down low.
This would be a great move for Dainja as he would have an opportunity to boost his playing time in a Big Ten Conference he is accustomed to while playing for his home state team. While the Golden Gophers just missed out on the NCAA Tournament, instead advancing to the second round of the NIT, they appear to be a team on the rise after head coach Ben Johnson鈥檚 third year. With many quality players likely returning, adding the homegrown Dainja could help catapult Minnesota into the NCAA Tournament conversation.
