Jalen Blackmon transferring: 5 landing spots for star scorer
Kentucky
Another family program, the Wildcats could be a fit in multiple ways for Blackmon. Kentucky ranked second in the country in 3-point percentage and top-100 in 3-point attempts so the team is not afraid to take shots from deep. However, the Wildcats’ top three 3-point shooters are expected to enter the NBA draft and be selected early, so they will need to replace a lot of that production. Blackmon could do that while also giving the young team a veteran guard.
However, the biggest question is if Kentucky is willing to add players from the portal. With head coach John Calipari鈥檚 one-and-done style where he adds top recruits each year, he may not be interested in adding older transfer players. If Calipari feels he needs a bit of veteran leadership or more deep-range shooting, Blackmon would be a good choice and the guard would likely be interested given his family connection to the program and the proximity to his home state.
