Kyle Smith leaving; 5 Washington State head coach candidates
Eric Henderson
Henderson is a rising head coach in college basketball, having led the South Dakota State Jackrabbits to great success over the past five years. During his time as the Jackrabbits head coach, Henderson has gone 109-48 with four Summit League regular season titles, two Summit League Tournament titles and two Summit League Coach of the Year awards. As the Jackrabbits’ replacement for former head coach T. J. Otzelberger, who has found success during his tenure at Iowa State, Henderson could be on a similar career trajectory.
While he doesn’t have many ties to the state or the Washington State program, Henderson has experience recruiting in the region and knows how to win with lesser talent. If the Cougars are interested in adding a winner with high upside, Henderson may get the nod.
