Marcus Foster transferring; 5 landing spots for Furman guard
Georgia State
Another program in Foster鈥檚 native state, the Panthers have a number of things that could be appealing to the guard. The first is that the campus is literally located in Atlanta which would mean that Foster would be able to play in his hometown. The second is assistant coach Allen Payne, who helped offer Foster out of high school when he was at Elon. Lastly, Georgia State could be in the market for a guard after leading scorer Lucas Taylor announced his intention to enter the transfer portal
However, there are some things that may make Foster hesitate to join the Panthers program. Like Furman, Georgia State is a mid-major so Foster wouldn鈥檛 benefit from greater media exposure or an ability to boost his draft stock for his professional future. Additionally, the Panthers are coming off of a down year where the team went just 14-17. Would Foster be interested in joining a mid-major program with a less bright future than the one he鈥檚 currently at? It seems unlikely.
