Amari Williams transferring; 5 landing spots for forward
2. Virginia Cavaliers
When a college basketball fan thinks of defense, the Cavaliers likely jump to the top of the list. Virginia ranks third in the country in scoring defense and No. 14 in blocks per game. This may seem like an odd spot for Williams to land given the team鈥檚 clear dominance in both categories.
However, there is going to be a lot of turnover in the Cavaliers frontcourt next season. Both Jacob Groves and Jordan Minor are set to graduate and do-it-all defender Ryan Dunn is expected to be selected in the NBA draft if he declares. This would give Williams a spot to establish himself as the team鈥檚 primary defender while also helping Virginia continue its dominating ways on the defensive end.
